Pilates Allegro / Pilates Reformer

As I fitness instructor I use many methods to get someone in shape and as a Life Coach I use many methods to help people set and reach their goals. One of my favorite work-outs for the mind and body is Pilates. Pilates will strengthen the body at the core as well as tone all the muscles and will help to strengthen the clients mind through new forms of coordination challenges.

Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates and he called his method Contrology because he believed his method controls the muscles through use of the mind. He believed that ones physical and mental health are essential to one another and that breathing is a major key. His exercises focus on what he called "the powerhouse" of the body, the core muscles which are essential to providing support for the spine. All of the exercises, whether Mat Pilates or on the Reformer, are designed to teach and develop spinal alignment, strengthen deep torso muscles and focus on breath awareness. He designed and refined his method over many years of work with injury rehabilitation, ballet dancers and physical fitness. He designed it using the basics of aerobics, Yoga, & dance. This is believed by all who teach Pilates to be a mind and body fusion system of exercise that stretches, strengthens and stabilizes the muscles.

It is the opinion of many neurologists,psychiatrists & MD's that have concluded that some of the best ways to keep the mind healthy and prevent senility and Alzheimer's is to:
